I think we can all agree that this year was a most successful visit. There was a large number of core Aikidoka at just about every training session and similarly for the social events. What a great way to start the year off!

Many senior students turned up for the opportunity to train in with Giles and he seemed positively delighted with the numbers of willing uke available.

Sensei Giles has opened up an Aikijujitsu Butoku Ryu Dojo in Melbourne, Australia. If you are travelling out that way you would be warmly welcomed to step on to the mats.

Those who made it to the secret final destination were treated to such discoveries as:

  • Nick has a picture on his phone of a girl who may or may not be his girlfriend (he insists she is).
  • Alex doesn’t like salty pizza.
  • Ray continues to be the best wine merchant in Perth.
  • Christian wants my car (you can’t have it).

Several people who couldn’t make it to this one have promised to come to the next one, so we will have to come up with a venue that contains more than 2 tables!

Aikido Club on Monday night, 30 May. The new club committee members are :

Sensei Brett also announced the decision to have a Kyu Grading (Coloured Belts) in about a months time. The actual date is yet to be decided, but it will be on a Monday night.

The regular training sessions will focus on the techniques students require to pass their grading. We won’t cover everything in each class, so you will need to attend as many as you can to be prepared. A full syllabus will be posted to the web site within a week.

We will announce more details as they come to hand..
