The guys over in Melbourne are celebrating their first anniversary this week. We are all happy to see the club expansion going strong!

If you are travelling over that way, don’t forget to drop past for a little catch up and break fall soiree.

Greetings All!

Many thanks to Karel for uploading a great swath of photos from the 2010 tour.

I think we can all agree that this year was a most successful visit. There was a large number of core Aikidoka at just about every training session and similarly for the social events. What a great way to start the year off!

Group Photo If you didn’t make it into the photo, we hope to see you in the next one! If you want a full size copy of an image, please talk to Karel about it at training; I am sure you will be able to work something out!

The U.W.A. Aikido Club is very pleased to announce:

Sensei Fujimori is coming to Perth!

藤森先生が二月に来豪

Arriving on the 18th of February this year, Sensei Fujimori will be with us for 10 days of intensive training and cultural exchange.

This will be a members only event; so if you have been away from the mats for a while, now is the time to get back in to the Dojo!

The next Aikido dinner will be held on the second Monday of August so Paul can come along too! We’ll be eating at the old pizza place on warratah avenue which has changed it’s name to Lo Zucherro.

99a Waratah Ave, Dalkieth.

Car pooling could be advantageous.

About a week ago, the club held a special Wind-Up dinner with Sensei Giles who had been visiting Perth for about a week and had packed in as much time on the mats as possible. Many senior students turned up for the opportunity to train in with Giles and he seemed positively delighted with the numbers of willing uke available.

Sensei Giles has opened up an Aikijujitsu Butoku Ryu Dojo in Melbourne, Australia. If you are travelling out that way you would be warmly welcomed to step on to the mats.
